Scuba Event Charlie Ewer

I've been away with the Subaqualholics team on a couple of dive trips now, and I had heaps of fun! The staff are great - really laid back and chilled, and make everything really easy. I'd always been wary of organised dive trips, but if you want to laugh your head off, make great friends, enjoy the ocean and just have a ball, then these are the guys to do it with! lots of love xxx

Scuba Equipment Servicing

!
Unique to Subaquaholics, bring in your old Regulator (any age or condition – we don’t quibble!) and we will offer you up to £150.00 off the price of a new regulator set purchased in-store. Given that the cost of servicing some regulators can run at over £100, and you can now purchase a brand new set from only £250, this option is proving very popular!
We have the best service technicians in the industry, who are meticulous in their attention to detail and have over 40 years of industry knowledge and experience. Therefore this gives you peace of mind, for you know your equipment will stay within the centre and is not sent out to a third party, where it may get lost or damaged.

All manufacturers will tell you that your equipment needs to be regularly serviced, however common sense also tells you this is an important consideration and should be done either every 100 dives or annually. Equipment failure is often a factor in why a diving incident occurs. According to the BSAC Diving Incident Report for 2009, over 10% of all reported cases were due to equipment malfunction. At the start of the season it is a good idea to get out all your equipment and have it checked. Your regulator is quite simply your lifeline.

All dive schools, clubs and anyone else offering training should have their equipment serviced every 6 months in order to comply with manufacturer & HSE regulations. You may not be aware that they should also be keeping accurate equipment servicing records, and ALL servicing must be done by a manufacturer qualified Service Technician. It is worth noting also, that anyone who chooses to buy second-hand equipment, even if it is from someone you know, would be well advised to have it serviced before you even think of using it.

Regulator servicing costs depend on make and model, and are quoted normally for a full service including 1st & 2nd stage, Octopus & gauges . It is worth noting that if you purchase a brand new Oceanic set, you have a lifetime warranty that includes all service kits, so for each annual service you pay only the cost of the labour, not for the service kit parts (assuming the regs are always serviced in line with the manufacturers servicing policy).
