Guys, just wanted to say a BIG thank you to all the team at Subaquaholics. Everyone made me feel very welcome & always took the time to talk through any queries I had. Also another big thanks for taking me through the Open Water course before my holiday with such short notice, I can't wait to jet off & get diving! I'm sure to be back to you guys for further training later in the year!

I've been away with the Subaqualholics team on a couple of dive trips now, and I had heaps of fun! The staff are great - really laid back and chilled, and make everything really easy. I'd always been wary of organised dive trips, but if you want to laugh your head off, make great friends, enjoy the ocean and just have a ball, then these are the guys to do it with! lots of love xxx

Learning to dive with Subaquaholics has been a great experience, I should have done it earlier in life. The training is top class and all instructors and shop staff are very helpful. Can't wait to try the new drysuit out. Thanks!

About Us

PADI"Five years on, Subaquaholics is now one of the most highly regarded dive centres in the United Kingdom and especially in the South West and Bristol."
Subaquaholics story began on a beach in Cornwall in 2003 where Spike and Lou first met. Spike was an assistant instructor and Lou was a Divemaster. Spike had learned to dive at the age of 10, back home in Morpeth, Northumberland and then went on to join the university dive club when he moved to Bristol to study aeronautical engineering. Lou started diving in 1998 with a dive club in Birmingham and was soon helping to organise dive trip weekends.

Subaquaholics ShopIn 2003 an opportunity to organise and run a regular weekly pool session came along, so Spike and Lou set about marketing the idea of teaching people to dive and soon had their first group of students to teach, and in 2005 Subaquaholics was born. From their passion for diving and their desire to pass this enthusiasm on to everyone, initially the dive school and club were running alongside their full time jobs. Spike had his own recruitment business and Lou was a successful medical sales manager.

It was a couple of years later that Spike excitedly passed on the news of the local dive shop being up for sale, and Lou holding their 4 week old baby, stared at him as if he had gone completely potty!

Well, 5 years on and Subaquaholics is now one of the most highly regarded dive centres in the UK and especially in the South west. This has been achieved through plenty of hard work and a strong belief that as a team they have exactly what is needed to inject masses of enthusiasm, and pass on their wealth of experience to everyone who passes through the door.

Spike has used his engineering and technical background to become one of the few service technicians, who really does know everything about servicing all types of equipment. He has gained a fantastic reputation in all areas of the scuba industry, due to his flair and expertise.

The dream for the future is to keep building on these foundations and continue to offer a first class service and inspiration to anyone who is keen to discover the underwater world. The long term goal is to design and build a ‘state of the art’ dive centre.
